I don’t think there’s a firm that cares about grades more than Covington
Latham
Depends on the practice area. I was a bankruptcy associate there years ago and my GPA was about a 3.2 from a T14. I had a Delaware clerkship though.
It probably matters more for litigation than corporate. And less for specialities like bankruptcy (they're not exactly well known for that practice. I came from a bigger firm).
Good luck!

How bad are these grades we're talking about?

That doesn't seem bad.
How hard is it to end up under 3.2 GPA at a T14?
That would have been the absolute bottom of my class. After all the uncurved/higher curve electives 2/3 of my graduating class graduated cum laude (>3.65).
