Does filling out all the demographic info on applications help or hurt you if your chances of getting an interview?

Honest answer: it depends on the company, but the data leans toward filling it out. Most ATS systems separate demographic info from the reviewable application, so hiring managers often don't see it during screening. Skipping it can sometimes flag your application as incomplete. That said, if a company's culture doesn't align with who you are, do you really want to work there anyway? Use Glassdoor reviews to vet DEI culture before applying — the demographics question is often the least of your worries.

I don't think it really affects anything. I mean, legally it's not supposed to, but who knows in reality? But it's my understanding that some of those demographic things are required by the government for some reason.

Hi all. I’m finishing up school and looking to start applying for jobs in tech, I’m going for computer science, what range of salary should I expect going into this field?

Hello!
I was wondering what kind of contractual or other barriers I might face if I apply for one of the big 4 while working on a project with them in my current company.
I am not too involved in the project but I was in a few meetings and went on a field trip with them as well.
The position that I am applying for is in a different team and city.
Will this considered “poaching” if the consulting firm hires me? Would they need to talk to my current employer?

I went through two rounds of interviews for

should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they

Question about remote job negotiations

I'm currently interviewing for a remote role for a company based in NY.

The thing is I'm based in a different city (southern U.S.)

My question is:

When it comes time to talk compensation, should I base the market rate for the role on my city of residence or NY?

Would it make sense to ask them directly how they determine comp for NY-bases vs. other city-based employees?

Anyone have experience with this?

I have a in person(online, 4 hours - 4 people) technical interview coming up and I have been practicing my coding for the past 3 weeks. The only thought I've been having is "what if I can't solve the coding question?" I am still fairly new to the software engineer scene and the position is for a level 1 software engineer.
Does it essentially end my chances if at any point I can't solve the question? I mean I will definitely attempt to talk it through, ask question, but no progress in code. 🤷

I plan to another 6-8 months in preparation and upskilling myself before I even apply.
Any help and guidance is appreciated! Thanks :)
