Hi Fishes, I have received an offer from Barclays for AVP position. But the role discussed during interview was for Tech Delivery Manager whereas the offer letter mentions it as Tech Delivery Lead. Can you guys please suggest if it is the same role or should I request recruiter to get the role updated? Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies.Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python.It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase
My dad's a senior software architect getting 35 lpa for 18 years work experience in cognizant. His tech stack is AEM and he has worked on angular and Java Projects as well. Sometimes vice versa is also true, your interview went average and you still get selected. There's a bit of luck involved on what kind of interviewer you get.
My interview was done is 5 min for team lead position, What I think is I got selected primarily due to long working hours history and bit of same background. Although I rejected their offer due to Compensation

Happened with me in schenider electric manager round..Managers first question was expected CTC..post that he asked a question on hashmap which he himself was not aware and challenged me and then he had to check Google and then finally accepted my answer.Next question was a design question which i think i did pretty well..Post this i was ghosted/no response from HR..
Think Its a combination of ego/expected salary might have been superceding the managers salary
Happened with me for Commonwaealth bank of Australia, the HR team took all the sensitive documents discussed the package. I was getting more than 100% hike. They offered package higher than what I had mentioned. But did not share the offer letter. On confirming got the reply that " Position is filled".
I had one experience with @deloitte where in the last round (3rd) of interview with a Director, I was rejected due to following reasons:
1. My background was clustered, I was giving the interview from home.
2. I did wore a crisp white shirt and a blazer.
3. I had a stuble.
4. I was not aware of HBR and its top trending articles.
These were the reasons given to me even if I cleared the coding round and managerial round.
I dont know why now a days @deloitte's hiring culture has degraded.
Yes it happens often when interviewer wants only a specific kind of solution. He isn't open to alternative solutions. It happened with me, i answered all SQL, python questions, after a week got a rejection email.

I have even done salary negotiations with Eli Lilly after two successful interviews and they confirmed to release offer. But they have sent a rejection mail saying they have recruited someone else. Anyways I was not planning to join as well.
It was same scenario for me gave interview for PWC for a position, interview went absolutely perfect way with two way interaction going all the way till the end with the interviewer, provided all the solutions and answered the process followed for a certain usecases. Interviewer told me I am interested in seeing you as an addition to the team and then poof never got any mail or contact by the HR on top got blocked by the HR who contacted me first I was not even interested for the interview. Quite funny to be honest.

The interviewer might be young and wouldn't have understood your approach. Let that sink in an move on. This has happened with me in the past as well. Keep looking for opportunities, you will find the one you deserve.
Happened with me too. Sometimes the interviewer cannot believe that I have actually solved the coding problem. Once the interviewer abruptly ended the interview when I solved the problem. And then I was rejected.
And in another interview, i solved the first problem and the interview was searching for a tougher problem to give me and was messing up the problem statement and could not even explain the question properly. I could not solve it as he didn't give me time and said you cannot do it and asked me to stop.
Reverse also true that I didn't solve the problem yet was selected.

Same happened with me for Unitedlex, interview was for the position lex loans there were two rounds after analytical test
1) manager round
2) director round
Cleared the test and appeared for manager round, interview went well, they liked my exp., Comm, skills so on the same day got confirmation that they liked what I presented to them, & I was selected for Closure role (Higher position according to them) again interview went well, but after multiple follow I got to know I was rejected.
Feedback: They didn't liked my experience, and I was like (Itne draame krne the toh pehle hee bta dete, pehle hee reject krte. 🤔😄)
I was even being told that, I will get a call for further discussion and then I came to know I am being rejected in the interview. It was really surprising .

Had same experience with Optum
I am not a software developer but there was an interview that went very well according to me but then I got a rejection email. So, I asked the HR for a feedback of my interview and told her that "I believe my interview went well. Please let me know my areas of improvement. "
I got a reply from the HR saying that she got a positive feedback about my interview from the interviewer. However, my salary ask was beyond their budget so they hired someone else on lesser CTC.
So, you may ask the HR for a feedback. There could be some other reason that is not visible.
U can think like everything happen for a reason...something better than that is waiting for u...that's y u r not selected or get which u think this is best for me...
Hi. Can you please provide me salary range for 27 grade? In JD, they have mentioned salary grade as 27.
I guess it is in range of 21 to 30 lpa (including variable)
