Does your first role matter in terms of changing industries later on ?

Question on lateral transfers from Tier2/Boutique to MBB. If I’m coming from a Manager position would the norm be to also start as a Manager at MBB or does one usually get nocked down one level?

Realize this might vary case by case but curious to hear experiences

When should a stub start getting worried about not having much work and low billable hours?
I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? I usually figure out the answer pretty quickly…but then I spend a ton of time trying to prove myself wrong.
