Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

At a prior company, my desk was located near HR. I watched helplessly as one person after another was walked out individually in a mass layoff. People caught on and were standing around anxiously wondering if they were next. I remember thinking they could have pulled all the folks that were safe into a room and all the folks that weren't into another room versus having people wait anxiously one by one. It was well over 50 people that tracked by my desk with that knowing look.
I am glad you're safe.
Wow, I'm really sorry that happened. That sounds kind of traumatizing. I think I've had those little moments where I'm like, this job is not my life and I need to reevaluate my priorities. It sounds like you've had a similar moment.
Yes, I have. I am even reconsidering quitting my current job to focus on upskilling

I’ve seen a couple of your posts on here and I’m not 100% sure anything you’ve said is true 😂
I am talking from past experience. You know how that feels

Unless it was a life or death situation, your manager did the right thing since it draws attention away from your colleague (so they can recover with less intensity) and re-focuses the energy back to the presentation which is why everyone one assembled and it maintains the professional tone. Sounds cold but this is the reality of business. I once had a direct report collapse due to severe dehydration, lack of sleep, and a caffeine/nicotine overload - who is accountable here? Me as the manager since I delegate work, the company since it was during business hours, or the employee who could have prevented this by making smarter/healthier choices? Sh** happens.
Huh, that's Business as usual
