Edelman announced 3 days in, WFH 2 days. What are other PR firms doing? BCW, W2, Kyne, marina, etc?

With the talent flight/rotation going on in the PR industry and the stark differences in WFH/WFA preferences between say people with kids and not, management is terrified to misstep and cause a backlash. There will be a ton of “let’s try this” without it being mandatory or impacting people’s standing. It’s laudable that many firms are doing this and will definitely help with employee loyalty.

like

Hopefully like the efforts around DE&I also impact hybrid approach and that companies work hard to avoid “proximity bias” towards those in the office versus not, which is what I am hearing it called.

smartfunny

Total flexibility — we can come in as much or as little as we want (3 days guarantees a permanent desk), set the time zones we’d like to work from, and all employees can remain/transition to remote permanently.

likesmart

I like this. The bit about 3 days giving you a permanent desk communicates to employees that it's their decision to make, while also setting some expectations. And I do think it's fair for firms to ask employees to make a decision eventually so teams can plan accordingly.

like

Um, I was told there would be no math.

like

To be clear, they did not mandate 3 days a week in the office and specific policies won’t be finalized until August. The communication said they estimate that people will be in 3 days a week on average. Some roles may require more, some less.

like

There’s a lot to figure out! There are a lot of different factors that go into creating a hybrid environment that works. I’d rather they take their time and get it right. I get the impression from Lisa’s communications that we’ll be pretty flexible, but we’ll never be 100% remote if that’s the kind of flex people are looking for.

like

Let’s be clear, this is subjective and not a mandatory back to office. All teams are still very flexible. Some were having remote employees before Covid, Edelman Heath anyway had always been flexible.

like

Exactly.

We’re being asked to come in 2 days/week starting Sept but aren’t being forced and allegedly days won’t be tracked.

like

I've heard London/Europe isn't being asked to go in at all.

There are a lot of conversations going on at enterprise level for all companies - agencies, in house, etc - because an employee’s “primary working location” has a significant impact on the company’s city and/or personal taxes. In some states, cities are expecting a loss of 60% of the tax funds PER COMPANY, even with a hybrid workforce. Theres a huge ripple effect taking place here.

I am looking for my next job. I will say that recruiters who use WFH as a pretext to lowball a salary offer are an easy “pass.”

Hello Fishes, I have a Job offer from Cisco and Verizon(VDSI).

Cisco CTC - 16.2LPA , Fixed - 15.1LPA - Cisco TAC role.

Verizon data services llc - CTC 18LPA , Fixed - 16.1LPA

YOE - 6.5 Years
CCTC - 7.2 LPA
Tech - Networking and Security

Conflicted between both as I believe Cisco has a better brand value and great company to work for. But the offer from Verizon is competitive.

Is it a good idea to renegotiate with Cisco based on current offer from Verizon. Please share your thoughts.

Hi All,

Was just told to "grow our ESG/CSR" practice at a regional consulting firm, due to my recent grad certification in sustainable biz strategy. Wondering where I should focus us as a services industry for big impact: we have a large product innovation, digital engineering area, and know in the past we've had a lot of lip service to clients and only recorded ESG for their compliance.

Hoping to make a big difference and include CSR/Sust audits and projects beyond for our clients! Any tips?

I received an offer and asked about their parental leave. I don't plan on having kids anytime soon but would like to in 3-5 years and hope I can start a long-term career here. Was that a weird question to ask? The company initially responded that they are rewriting it so I didn't get much detail.

Can you please share:

- how many active pitches you send per month for those clients on average
