Try therapy.
Regular people don’t make 200k-600k+…try looking at the median income in the US and your state. Those are regular people.

Fishbowl is one of the most insane bubbles for comp. My guy, if you are making 200-600k and feel like you’ve “made it” salary-wise here’s the newsflash: you never will. Your issue has nothing to do with the number on your paycheck and everything to do with the idea that you are comparing to people. Go to therapy

Poor is not what you have, it’s what you want. So being grateful for what you have and not always looking for more stuff to fill you up, that’s the key to abundance and prosperity. What fulfills your soul? Probably not more stuff from pottery barn although America sets up a narrative that more fancy stuff is the key to living a fulfilling life.
Sort of out of touch, but it’s all relative. I live in Houston Texas, and most “well off” individuals here - the parents of “the rich kids” - make $65-80K per year (I make double that). Most of the kids at my step-daughter’s school are very obviously poor (and free breakfast and lunch every day for all students if they want it). My privilege is kind of in-my-face, and I’m just working to save as much as possible. I try not to compare myself to people who spend a lot of money. I don’t own a house yet and wish I did, I don’t have a boat, or a lake home. It’s easy for me to see what I “lack”, and so I just remind myself that I don’t know how in debt others are, but I want to make dang sure I have enough to last me for the long haul.
Lol what part of Houston is this where $80K is “rich”?? With all the oil and gas money in the city, plenty of people cruise past that number in their twenties.
My household income is £350k-£400k. I don't feel poor at all. We live frugally and save 60% of our income each month and still take 3-4 holidays a year. We don't buy any designer goods and spend wisely.
Spend time with people outside of this bubble, donate your time and money, and take time to think about what truly matters to you. You’ll never be happy even if you bring in 1M a year if you aren’t truly thankful for what you have and the privileges that come with not having to worry about money

Ignore what every body is saying here. You’re middle class and will stay middle class. My apologies, keep posting this stuff though !

This is a normal human condition. You always compare yourself to the next higher thing
I'm just happy I can still afford to feed my kids. A lot of my neighbors are having to cut back a lot and cancel any non essential services.
I make like 270 at 29 and feel inadequate, fwiw

Nah, relatively I feel way better off than people I grew up with. But in many ways I “made it out” when most people I know didn’t. Most of my friends from that time are blue collar laborers now and I would be surprised if they are earning anywhere close to 6 figure. Even in college getting to the point where I could someday make $10k a month felt like it would be making it.
