Even though we make a lot of money in absolute terms, do you feel relatively poor?

Have friends and acquaintances from high school (don't even get me started on college), that make $200,000 - $600,000+. Lawyer, dentist, software sales and entrepreneur to list a few.

My own compensation is in that range, so I don't feel like I've "made it" if so many [regular] people have the same income level. Am I just an out-of-touch, greedy person or is it the same for you?

How many times do we have to have this conversation with data scientist? It’s the same post, every time 🙄

Money gives comfort, comfort can make you happy or not. Generally, happiness comes from other purposes and goals from life outside work and money

Every time I think Data Scientist has said the most intelligent thing I’ve ever read, he writes another post and resets the standard. So on point with all of his views.

$200-$600k is average for educated, type A, aggressive people in HCOL cities in America. Keep in mind America is also the most productive, smartest working country on Earth. Some people study or work themselves to death because of the family and societal pressure to be successful. Most countries aren’t like this except some Asian countries. 99.50% of the world makes much less.

Lmao wtf

the most successful people i know from highschool either dropped out or didn't go to college: one started a tech company, another is a youtuber who bought all his friends ferraris

if you play the same game as everyone else you get the same rewards 🤷‍♀️ salary man = salary man

It is a phenomenon observed when a candidate frequently jumps job in order to have a market correction to his salary.

Now for his experience, he can be paid upto 30 lpa for the role.
So after switching for 13 lpa.. He keeps job hopping from 13-19 and 19-28 within a year where he finally feels he is paid adequately.

Recently, a SaaS client (1k employees) that hired my old consulting firm reached out to me about a job opening - Lead BA working primarily to implement their benefit admin system for insurance companies. My current TC is 95k. Is it worth making the jump if the offer is north of 110k? Anything I should look out for? The client and coworkers were all nice, but I remember being stressed on the project due to limited resources.
