who here has fled the city until further notice until we figure out the impacts of Covid? Feeling really nostalgic about not resigning my lease and leaving back to my parent’s until probable end of summer/end of year☹️

I’m sticking it out in Back Bay! The city is actually not such a bad place to be at the moment. There’s tons of green space where I can get outside near my apartment, many of my favorite restaurants are still available for takeout or delivery, and there are plenty of COVID-friendly ways to spend the weekends in and around Boston (nearby beaches, golf, state parks, tennis courts, etc.). All of these things made me want to stay.

Two major factors for not leaving: (a) I live with my significant other, so it’s not as though I have roommate issues or I’m completely isolated alone, and (b) I love my parents but truly would not enjoy living with them for months on end as an adult.

Out of curiosity: for those who mentioned that they’d left, were you living alone, with roommates, or with a significant other?

I did the same! It really is the most practical decision, but it doesn't make it easy. It may be at least a year before the city returns to it's former glory. And in my opinion, there's no point in going living in a crowded area if you can't reap the benefits (proximity to restaurants, friends, using public transit, etc). I am grieving my old life in the city, but not sad about leaving the life in the city that I would have now.

i was living with a roomate but she decided to leave and i was left alone.

I was also living with roommates! I definitely wouldn't leave it I were living with my s/o. Unfortunately spending months away from my s/o 😥

Same! I fled to live with my parents but lease ends 9/1...if we’re still in this by then I’d probably put my stuff in a storage unit

Does anyone have family members who constantly demand money because they feel like you’re rich now because you’re a lawyer? I’ve always wanted to be in a position to help my family but we all live in the high COL city so my salary doesn’t carry me as far as it would elsewhere. I’ve given a detailed summary of all of my expenses yet every month one family member in particular comes to me for rent money (not some, the full amount, and they refuse to get a job). It has become quite the burden.

Have offer from Nagarro Gurgaon. Is it possible to relocate to Bangalore post covid instead of Gurgaon ?

My wife is in sales at Mercedes and she has been averaging $200k a year and growing YoY. She loves her job, however she works long days and barely gets time off. We plan on having kids within the next year or two, and it’s highly u likely that she’ll be able to keep her current gig. We want to find a career that allows her to work remote or that at least gives her a better work life balance so that she can see her kids grow up. Should she get certifications to give her a shot at adtech?Too late?
