I’m sticking it out in Back Bay! The city is actually not such a bad place to be at the moment. There’s tons of green space where I can get outside near my apartment, many of my favorite restaurants are still available for takeout or delivery, and there are plenty of COVID-friendly ways to spend the weekends in and around Boston (nearby beaches, golf, state parks, tennis courts, etc.). All of these things made me want to stay.
Two major factors for not leaving: (a) I live with my significant other, so it’s not as though I have roommate issues or I’m completely isolated alone, and (b) I love my parents but truly would not enjoy living with them for months on end as an adult.

I did the same! It really is the most practical decision, but it doesn't make it easy. It may be at least a year before the city returns to it's former glory. And in my opinion, there's no point in going living in a crowded area if you can't reap the benefits (proximity to restaurants, friends, using public transit, etc). I am grieving my old life in the city, but not sad about leaving the life in the city that I would have now.

Same! I fled to live with my parents but lease ends 9/1...if we’re still in this by then I’d probably put my stuff in a storage unit
