My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

IMO, that’s SSLA’s weakness—the harsh divison of digital and traditional. Creatives should be able to think in terms of traditional broadcast and be able to round it out with a purposeful integrated digital component. The division leads to a rivalry of “oh tradional can’t do this” or “digital can’t do that."
@SD1 - i figured they knew, which is why they brought it up.
long story short: five years ago toyota decided to move HQ to dallas and just moved a year or so ago, wanted to keep saatchi as the agency (unprecedented, because they’d usually drop the agency), saatchi told them they didn’t want to move, because dallas talent is scarce, saatchi agreed to open a sister office in dallas to have boots on the ground there, some people moved while others were hired there, and when people quit LA, they hired some of them in dallas, so there weren’t layoffs. now we do 90% of the work remotely and CDs travel to dallas once a month or so to present work.
it’s actually pretty smooth, aside from technology never fucking working and meeting times being inconvenient.
there are zero plans to move/close the LA office, but the dallas office may grow from about 100 to maybe more. but the LA office is still 450 or 500 strong.
stop spreading stupid ass rumors, OP.
Think Jeremy Carson will have a hot take on his blog?
Does that mean you guys are hiring ..?
The problem is 90% leadership and 10% Torrance.
Recruiter is Susie Rofe. But she's not the best...
Yes but we also have bee swarms near those picnic tables
But we have new picnic tables out front! I think things are starting to turn around!!!
Go work on Honda at RPA. Work is solid and culture is better. Not a boys club either.
I can honestly say this place is where dreams go to die.
Digital creative freelancers are leaving. Another producer quit this week. And a UX lead quit who’s on a major revamp of the site. If you think things are solid on the 2nd floor you’re in denial. And all account people will need to be in Dallas.........
you might want to be patient. the fiscal year just started. that means freelance filler contracts are ending and the SOW that has been worked on for months just got approved. i can’t tell you more, but honestly, don’t freak out. this office is the most profitable in the publicis network.
Not freaked out, I left that sinking ship. I was sick of the me too movement that needs to hit SSLA. If you’re a women get out. And they will never leave Torrance rent is too cheap. BTW, a long time media guy left for RPA recently, tells you a lot about what’s going on.......
Dude (or ma’m), the office isn’t moving to Dallas.
Saatchi’s new fiscal just started. They’re going to get the freelance $ all in place and also there’s gonna be $ for more hires.
Cool people, apply to SaatchiLA. LETS BE FRIENDS.
It’s not specific people, honestly, but rather a tasteless cocktail made of difficult clients, nervous leadership, project timeframes, and lots and lots of bees.
The LA office is strong?? That’s why 3 people work on ASICS a global account and what’s up with the Chargers??
Oh and don’t forget the Olympics spot was 5th overall during Super Bowl which is that highest rated spot Saatchi has EVER had for the Super Bowl in the 40+ years they’ve had Toyota.
Oh and Publicis doesn’t enter into awards because of Marcel. Saatchi’s an account run agency, all account people will eventually have to move to Dallas because clients keep asking for it, that’s not a rumor.
Worst all agency meetings ever. Just show the work. Don’t have the whole team up there talking about the struggle of the campaign. We have shit to do! Also, the seats aren’t comfortable
🤭🍿
office isn’t moving to dallas.
also, creatively, it’s just the traditional side that’s dying off. take a look at the digital group. notice anything?
100% agree with leadership’s dumb pipe dreams though.
Everyone not at Saatchi knows that Toyota relocated their people to Texas right? Hence the Dallas comments
