Hello All,
I have recently joined FIS Global around end of April. My mother recently met with an accident and she needs to be operated.
I haven't been able to update the anything regarding the insurance part yet on FIS portal.
Will my mother's treatment be covered under the insurance? If yes, what's the procedure for the same? What are the documents that I need to submit in order to claim the amount?
Can anyone please guide?

Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

Obviously there are exceptions to this, but the norm appears to be people who can and choose to prioritize work above all else.
Ideally I don’t want to stagnate my career, but I don’t want something like the Big 4 partner track as i’d like to be able to balance my family life alongside work. I’ve also accepted that a pay cut may be a reality, given how well B4 advisory is currently paying.
Has anyone out there been in a similar boat and if so, where did you land? what types of roles should I be looking for?
No helpful advice to share, but wanted to say kudos to you for putting your family first! So many people chase money or titles, yet you’ve figured out what is truly important 🙂
I’m in cmaas and every partner in my office is married with kids & every director is at least married. Definitely not mutually exclusive.
Technical accounting in industry is probably a good role but you’ll still have year end, quarter end & transactions keeping you busy. Maybe if you go to a private company you’ll have less work since no sec reporting
Absolutely not trying to keep you from leaving - that’s a personal choice everyone needs to evaluate and I have plenty of successful & happy friends that left as managers - but you’re not giving people enough credit.
The vast majority of partners I’ve met (probably ~100 which is a decent sample size) throughout my career are heavily involved with their kids. They may work strange hours to offset that but being a “bare minimum” parent is far from the norm. I’m friends with a couple partners in leadership now & I thought they did nothing but work before I knew them on a personal level. They’re both amazing parents and great examples of how you build your own destiny.
I think the people who miss games & events would do that regardless of career. Just don’t have the same values as you and I.
For vacations, that’s definitely a pervasive issue that I cannot refute. I start to feel less bad when it’s the partner’s 6th international trip that year and they’re staying at a 5 start hotel though.
Following! Also an AAS manager looking for a role with more WLB. I've been looking at technical accounting & financial reporting roles in industry but that doesn't seem that exciting.

Are you me? I've had almost the exact same background!
Same!
If you'd like to continue in client service and AAS, send me a message! My firm is a smaller consulting-only group, better WLB then B4 (where I exited from earlier last year myself) and much better comp for me personally. Happy to answer any questions, best of luck wherever you choose to go in the end!
