Which role has better exits in terms of WLB, growth, salary? Which would you choose and why?

How has the path to partner been? What are the typical numbers / criteria you have to hit?

Struggling with imposter syndrome here. Over the past five years at my employer I went from independent contributor as a developer to a more of a Leadership position. what I’m finding though is that I don’t get nearly the kudos or mentions that I used to as an IC. Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?

I recently switched to a developer role in a product based company from a support engineer for past 4 years in a service based company. I got a good hike as well.
