Feeling a way about starting school . I am turning 30 next month and starting maybe pre starting pre reqs for dental hygiene . It may take me a total of about 3-4 years to finish . I feel a way because I've seen myself further and to be stuck in the position I am in until I'm 33-34 seems daunting and like I've failed I'm currently a dental assistant n I'm still at home . But I don't know what else to do to be stable

Your competition is yourself. You’re taking steps now to advance yourself. Go through with and keep working hard from there

Are you still interested in the dental hygiene field, or staying in it because that's what you know? Decide what you actually want before starting. You can go back to school for anything, if you wish to switch fields. Look back into that vision of where you see yourself 3, 5, 10+ years from now. If it's still a desire, go for it. If not, find something new and put your energy there. It's you vs. you from here.

I would strongly advise connecting with dental hygienists in your area on LinkedIn to have a chat about their profession. Get an idea of their life to see if there is anything you may be interested in contemplating yourself.

I say go for it! You did your research. Don’t look at your age! Look at the goal 🥅. If it’s constantly on your mind go for it. Compete with yourself not others. Also use the time to save money. Who knows you might qualify to be a first time homebuyer by the time you graduate 👩‍🎓. Where are you located?

First post, not sure if this is the best bowl to use but here goes. I’m wondering if anyone can share a bit about their experience working at MongoDB. I have seen they are hiring for many roles and am curious to hear about their experience. In particular, I would like to hear about software engineer roles. Currently I work on database engine C++ code and have seen some roles that indicate continuing down this stream would be possible with my skillset.

Does where you get your masters degree matter? I’m in an online environmental science masters program at an expensive “name-brand” school, but have colleagues telling me I should transfer to a less expensive program to save $ because no one cares about where your degree is from. Aside from the cost of it, I like my program, and the fact that I’m now connected to an incredible alumni network. And not gonna lie, I like the clout. Thoughts?

I've got 4 years at a staffing agency after getting Masters in HRM and making a complete career change in 2018. Doing full cycle recruiting and account management. I feel I'm doing very well (in the role and with comp $57 base + commission = ~$91k last year) BUT I feel stuck!! I'm feeling undervalued and unchallenged. I think I'd love corporate recruiting/TA Specialist, etc. How do I make the jump? Should I just keep truckin??

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. I’m devastated because he’s never expressed anything like this in the 8 years. He’s been super supportive and loving, even when we were in a long distance relationship. He supported my career and dreams and this just doesn’t make sense. We have gotten a counselor but things aren’t getting better. Comment>
