Be grateful you have a position to complain about.
Oh I am very grateful that I do have a job and that it pays well. I just want more of a change been in this setting for a very long time and its draining. Everyone deserves to have a good paying job and something that you don’t feel stuck or a complete waste.
Have you been able to see if there are any opportunities out there that would be better for you? I can relate to feeling stuck and not being able to get anything more out of my position. For me I had to look into professional development I could do so I could get out of my specific spot.
I have been trying to get into something new like HR or project management but trying to stay in federal service is hard.
Let your manager know that you need developmental experiences to include a detail to HR or elsewhere. Work your hiney off in the detail. Let them know you are interested in staying. Form relationships in organizations you are interested in-- ask for informational interviews. Tell people who are interested in growing your career. I realize this is easier to do if you are at a major VA site or in the DMV (no idea where you are). But even at a smaller VA location you can form relationships which will help you get into a different department or a new job. Don't be a pest, but several times a year approach your boss about your IDP (Individual Development Plan-- if you don't have one get one).
Oh thanks for the info, I have been telling my boss that I would like different training and that I would like to stay in federal service. To be honest I really don’t think he cares if I stay or go. This position has a very high turnover rate and I think its just expected for me to move on at some point.
Yeah that’s tough. I have a 57 mile drive and I have a four hour daily commute when I take dart light rail and TRE. but I do have options

I know the feeling. My job is kind of mind numbing but super stressful because we don’t have up today erp and so everything is clunky and doesn’t make any sense to me. Because I can’t see the erp as a whole just my little portion. So I’m having a hard time understanding it. I’ve never had any issues learning software ever. This one makes me feel a thousand years behind everyone.
