Fellow Indians, I hope when the dust settles on this recent event, we all realize somewhere deep down this is a population issue. India could never really be a 1.5B population country that could also be prosperous and wealthy satisfying its citizens as that is a function of available resources. We are where we are as it is just way too many people chasing too few opportunities. It is unfortunate and nothing can be done about it overnight but I hope we realize what has gone wrong since 1947.

I had to eat a lot of class years when joining big law. I didn’t go T14, didn’t get a summer job in big law, had to work my way up and finally got here. I’m at a great firm doing the exact work I like doing. Now, all around me, colleagues who graduated with me or after me are getting promoted and I’m still a long ways away. They all deserve it. But I can’t help but feel jealous and angry about the uncertainty ahead of whether I’ll make it there and how long it will take. Can anyone relate?

This is the 2nd company that rejected me after the 2nd round of interviews. Latest one left a bitter taste as I felt I was doing good during the interview process and felt I was really a good fit. On to the next one.
