HR is scheduling the interviews without checking time with me. One interview was scheduled and then it was rescheduled to a different time at last minute. I wasn't available at that time so I mailed the HR for a different slot. They again scheduled it for a later date without checking the time with me.

How do people focus in the office? I'm a first year and I've been mostly wfh since I started and I'm super productive at home - my setup is comfortable, I rarely get interrupted, and I feel like I can stay really focused in my home office.

Our SAs started today, so the firm is making us come in more often. My office set up is so awkward, screens are too small, and I'm constantly getting interrupted. Not to mention the extra time it took to get ready and commute. How do people do this?

How much does a rating effect hike? Is it just affecting bonus or hike has a role in the ratings you receive as well ?

Thoughts on leaving PA primarily due to the metrics based culture (utilization, dtc, use of X digital tool, revenue, margin, etc). I find this aspect of PA stressful and exhausting but not sure if this is something you just get used to. Currently a manager and seems like the metrics just change over time / don’t get easier.

Jokes aside, I was super insecure about the fact that I didn’t make it to MBB and ended up at D. Seeing fishbowl and how *even* MBB folks share a lot of similar struggles is great for perspective and has helped my self esteem issues a lot.

Investing: UK based couple, post-tax monthly income £5.5k, 8month emergency pot set, no debt, £10k in other savings, no children or plan to have, early 30s. We set aside £2-£2.5k per month for house deposit and plan to buy a house in the next 3 years. Should we look at investing small amounts per month (£300) or save everything for a house? How does your firm measure utilization? I work for a small boutique that defines it as utilization = number of billable hours/2,080 and full bonus payout occurs at 80% plus.

What are some things I can do while on the bench?

Can any PPMDs chime in on the comp statements? For the most these are terrible increases. Do you guys & gals agree with what the firm giving your main resources? I don’t understand how it makes sense to have people leave and you pay the incoming people more, as well as, spend more time and money in training them. Just trying to understand the rationale. Wouldnt it make more sense to keep your people happy?
