What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.

Ask them why the hell it took so long…
I was in a similar situation where the opportunity was dragging with 3 rounds, not including the initial recruiter call and subsequent calls. When it was time for the final interview I flat out asked how many other candidates made it to the final round, and the recruiter said that it was just me. TMP1 offers good advice on what to ask in addition.

Ask questions on culture, management style, and basic things like that. I also put an emphasis on what success looks like in the role, what’s the on boarding process like. I really just try to make sure I know the role and what I’m signing up for. This all depends on your level as well.
Thanks! It’s a new team with only a few people right now but this is super helpful. I’m not good at knowing what questions to ask in these conversations
Do you guys think it’s ok to ask how urgent my starting is? I lose 22k in bonus if I start before end of year.
Is this an HR question or hiring manager question?
I want to be careful until I have offer in hand
I’ll add that, while other people may have passed on the role bc it’s not right for them, it could be right for you.
I passed on two roles recently - one was a great role but the comp for me was 🥜- but could have been good for someone a few years junior. The other role felt a little too culty / keep it in (organizational) family/ don’t trust outsiders/ stay until retirement no matter what… someone could be looking for that.
All I’m saying is, every answer they give you on why someone passed on the role doesn’t have to be a red flag for you.
So I really should ask if other people turned it down first and why? I feel like I won’t get honest answers either way
