Silver is nothing. Gold is useful. Will take you about 15 round trips to get gold with that route
Half as much if you book first
It's not at $1.1k/wk flight, @D1. Especially if you book 2-3 weeks out and stagger routing with alternating SFO-IAH and IAH-SFO itineraries. I fly either way weekly on United and average in the 600s per round trip.
Gold is the first useful - free economy plus at check-in. The next useful is 1k. Divide 100k by your route pqm and then divide that by 2 per week...
Probably roughly 10-15. Gold is the first status where on United that is useful.
It’s a 1100$ flight. You’ll get decent points and PQMs for sure.
$1.1k? Seriously?
If you are talking dollars than yes but I’m talking on miles for PQM. I used to do that route weekly and would get about 1600 miles one way. My flights were almost always over $1000 even booking 2 weeks out
I get complementary upgrades to Economy Plus at checkin and I’m Silver so not sure what the other people are talking about.
