What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.

Time to find a new boyfriend or none. You don't have kids you are not married - accelerate your career and potential earnings in your 20s. You can always find love later.
Yes it's hard, probably heart breaking in the immediate term but the lack of resentment that you didn't compromise your career and growth will make up for it in the long run.

I’d make this less about the boyfriend and more about what you want to do with your life, career, immigration choices.
Canada may solve for your immigration, and possibly “life” by being with your boyfriend, however it’ll definitely be a different financial trajectory given opportunities and pay in Canada. However, if you do end up sticking to Canada long term benefits are also high (healthcare and education for kids etc).
If you stick to the US, be prepared for visa hell and uncertainty for a long time to come, but supposedly more career options and absolute pay.
Regardless of your boyfriend, the Canada vs US is an age old question that everyone struggles with. Far more immigration peace over $. There isn’t an obvious answer, just a personal one.
He is your boyfriend not husband. Do your thing. Stay in US

Time to look beyond your current boyfriend
If you love him and want to spend rest of life with him, look for a country where both of you can live and work (answer is Canada as getting USA visa is more difficult) . If you don’t intend to spend the rest of your life together, this is a non issue. You both stay where you are. Nothing complicated here...
America for sure. It’s faster to obtain Canadian residency.
Look at banks in Canada such as Scotia, RBC etc. Salaries are not as high as the US but immigration is much faster.
boyfriends are not important.... focus on your career..and what you want to do
Thank you for all the responses. We want to settle down together, but I've also worked so hard to get to the US. Thus letting go of either is extremely stressful.

If you worked hard to get into the US then honor that by staying in the US. If he wants to break up because he can’t get in then that’s his issue. Throwing your opportunities away for something that might not pan out.

No offense but your relationship seems lopsided where you’re expected to make all the adjustments. Is this the guy? He’s just a bf not your husband. Before you move anywhere get a commitment. Nothing is worth you uprooting your career.
What if you go there and there’s something else?
