Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

the boring, dull & demotivated state is because - as an Industrial Designer, you are used to tactile ways of working. You dealt with concept sketching, industrial clay, MDF, Keyshot, spatial thinking & spatial perception based working.. Now if you want to motivate yourself into digital UX, start learning HCI (hiyman computer interaction).. the more you uncover its history, ecflourion of HCI & beyond, I Hope you fall in love with the subject.
now if GUI is boring for you, then start exploring NUI, TUI, embodied interactions, ubiquitous computing, conversational UI, HMI etc. See which area under these advanced HCI topics offers career prospects and take a personal call
Uhhh, if you like technology and there are multiple aspects to UX as you might already know. You can choose to specialise in one of those aspects instead of screen design.
How do I keep myself motivated to learn more and get better in UI/UX? How do I develop interest into this field?
