Chasselas is definitely the signature variety in Switzerland, and most likely to be distributed, but I’ve had phenomenal examples from Alsace too.

Ooooh F!

I learned from Somm that Italy alone has 3,000+ different grapes 🤯

Yet all the more exciting with plenty of unknown wines to explore!

Verdicchio 😋

Great white, love the acidity and quirks like the slightly greenish hue

Nice selection! See you like more natural/traditional producers. Me too

I just bought an Alexa for my grandma's birthday. Her old radio broke and she's been kind of sad because she can't listen to her favorite music anymore while cooking, so I thought this would be a good pick. She'll have her favorite music right there.

Later today my grandpa tells me she's not been asking Alexa for her favorite music, but for her radio stations instead 😭😂

I need advice from the collective. It seems like there is a trend to sell wine in unique bottles. The only problem with this, those bottles will not fit into my wine fridge. Has anyone transferred wine to standard bottles and are you concerned about the wine one it hits the air? I’ve looked at vacuum stoppers but not sure if this is a good idea or not.

Dry. Acidic nose. But for $10 this wine is amazing. Where else can you find a ‘14 vintage for that cost. I Get nectarine hints maybe plum. Very little body. Mild tannin; I wouldn’t mind putting out for guests. If you’re going for something dry, acidic, in the red department, can’t complain. I picked this one up from Trader Joe’s. Hope you find this helpful!

I am looking for wine decanter tags that are writable. I’d like to find a vintage looking silver option, but they all require engraving. I’m looking for something writable that I can change the label on when I host wine parties and I have a couple decanters on the table. Anyone have something similar and can share a link with me? Any recommendations on getting into wine? I love other specialty beverages (3rd wave coffee, craft beer), but struggle to “figure out” wine.

The ability to get involved with local beer and coffee producers has been a huge factor for me, so I’m guessing the comparative lack of local wine producers has contributed to me struggling to understand more of the process, culture, tasting notes, etc.

This was by far the most interesting wine cellar I have ever seen. It's not temperature controlled because the caves in Cappadocia remain chilled even when the temperature outside is over 40゚C!

This 2010 was to early to pop. After 3 hours it started to show the depth and complexity. True to form, this is an old world style of wine giving more gritty earthy notes.
