Hi Fishes,
I Will be Joining PWC AC B as SA2 on Sept 2,2022. Just want to know about Appraisal cycle. Is it Mid Year or Annual appraisal process. Also, will I be eligible for next appraisal cycle ? Tried asking the same Question to HR, but didn't get a proper response. She just mentioned as per company policy.

I am Offered 29.5fixed by PwC for SA (L2). Currently on 25fixed. Should I join ? In terms of WLB.! My current employer on fishbowl shows Deloitte but have left Deloitte a year back. Currently in a firm with good WLB but PWFH is a big win for me that PwC is offering.
Any guidance or fist hand experience sharing is highly appreciated.

My perspective coming from B4 to a digital agency: the poor WLB is the B4 culture, strategy itself is not necessarily crazy hours everywhere.
If you think strategy is bad WLB, you should try delivery where we have to connect with India at 6am every day and 8-10 or 11 pm every night including Sunday. That is not fun.
Amen to that

Counterpoint. I’m having a really nice time. I used to be really stressed. I got older and learned to stop expecting perfection. To be ok with very good vs. amazing.
Once you do it for a bit you get a lot more efficient and a lot more chill. There are people who never get there as well. They obv don’t make it long.
You at a big4?
The part you left out is that the best way to get that high paying, low work hour job is through strategy consulting experience. Most of us do it for the exits, not because we enjoy the time here. It’s honestly not even that bad
BizOps as well. Overall growth strategy, pricing, marketing, etc.
Grass isn’t always greener. Good luck finding that perfect job that pays you tons of money not to work
OW1 hmmm I don’t know, initial guess is that it isn’t harder to get into big tech SWE/PM/DS than it is to get into MBB/T2 (where comp is more in the same ballpark as tech).
What does learn to do data even mean?
I was thinking the same thing lol
Or… make a strategy for yourself with the outcomes you want and then long term plan it so you position yourself to get what you want.
What do you mean learn data instead? Inspire me
Learn data analytics-whether that is tableau, python, or even excel, is your choice
Do strategy consulting and exit into industry at the mid-senior level for higher pay (not uncommon) and better work life (common). Director of strategy at a global firm sounds nice. You won’t get that role easily otherwise.
What is better? Where do you think the grass is greener?
