For FDD PPMDs - how did you get started building relationships that would bring in business? Idk a lot of PE/IB folks (outside of already won deals) so curious how you were able to target those types of people if they weren’t already in your world. I’m currently a 5th year senior manager at EY - and the path to PP seems to be an uphill battle with very limited slots available in next few years- primarily because we hired many DAPs last year. With my desire to make partner, I’m considering to make the move to ACN- what level can I reasonably come in at? I know there are many factors but curious of everyone’s perspectives.

Is it true life expectancy for partners is pretty low?

I have been offered a position at a non-US B4 with a 2 year path to partner. I know one of the partners at the local firm and have the support of the regional service line lead, and am bringing a specialized skill set they are trying to open a new business around. The KPIs seem achievable and I’ll be in charm school to help build support within that timeline. Most of me thinks a 2 year path under these circumstances realistic but my inner skeptic is jaded. Anything I might have missed?

Did you become a Partner as a second career (aka industry hire Partner)? How has your experience been? Would you recommend it?

If there is a sought after Director for a practice being built up at PwC. Has there ever been a time that a director can go straight to partner if they have an external offer that is quite compelling ?

I work my best when I am busy and have upcoming deadlines. It’s either procrastination or just short of it, but I never miss a deadline and clients/partners are consistently happy with my work. I have tried forever to change this but have failed every time. Will this ever change or does this only get reinforced as you move up and keep getting more responsibility? How do you get the proverbial shit done?
