For folks who moved from US to Canada how did you deal with financial assets when moving from US to Canada? I eventually want to return to US. I have a 401k/Roth IRA/HSA/Brokerage Account/Savings Account/Checking Account. I don't want to bring all my finances to Canada. I'm a foreign national in the US. Ideally I want to have a setup where I can draw from my funds in US to CA on a need basis. But how do you make sure not paying extra when dealing with currency exchange?

I am trying to justify house buying in HCOL city. The house cost is minimum 1.4m .monthly mortgage would be at least 7k(with just around 2k principal) rest goes to either int,tax. Not to mention regular house maintenance. How is it better than 3.5k rental. I understand appreciation and own house independence. But I am just trying to make numbers work.

i had my canadian pr last year but didn’t do the landing since covid hit. the deadline passed of course and the immigration office reached out to check if i’m still interested and if so i should re-do a medical. assuming my medical goes through and my pr is processed and accepted again, does anyone know if landing is still a thing? my original plan was to do a landing and move after 2 years. is this still possible or does canada basically want you to move in a year or so after pr is granted?
