Considering leaving to take a partner position at a small firm. Is it worth it? Would only be 2 partners with a staff of 10. Comp would be 250k on the low end and probably top out around 350k. Would take 3-4 years to get to this level of comp as would be buying 10% per year up to 40% of the firm. Am I stupid for not taking this? Currently manager making 125k. Comp first year as junior partner would be 120k with 10% ownership.

One of my friend got interviewed in Deloitte and she was asked to rethink her salary ask in the HR round. She reduced it to 1L less than initial ask. Now the status is in benchmarking approval. What does that mean ? Will they release the offer letter ?

Would it be hard to get a exp associate role in advisory at a B4 as someone with about 10 months in audit at EY, 7 months experience in corporate accounting at a F300 and CPA? Hated my time at the F300 but had thought the grass would be greener in industry. Has anybody accepted a job offer and then later rejected it to take a different offer that materialized later? Were there any repercussions to your reputation or otherwise? Any regrets?

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. On offer letter company has given 4-x-22 joining date and I have also accepted it. Current employers LWD is 15-x-22 . Current employer is not releaving before LWD. Gap is like 1.5 month between joining date and LWD.
