For in-house employment counsel, have you noticed the job market has become super competitive now, especially for remote l&e in-house jobs? I noticed some remote jobs on LinkedIn that pay well get over 200 applicants within a week. How are you all navigating this job market, if you are looking to switch employers? Have you noticed it less competitive locally, if you apply for hybrid or 100% on-site roles?

If you open a job page on LinkedIn, they count it as an applicant. Basically you can apply in your head and you become a number

Linkedin applicant numbers are meaningless fyi

like

If someone presses the “apply” button and it takes them to the websites external page but they don’t end up actually completing the application, Linkedin still counts that person in the “X number of people applied” list under the job posting on the platform. So it is not necessarily an accurate number

I’ve been searching for 9 months now and keep getting beat out by people with less impressive backgrounds. I’m assuming these people are using their connections. I’m just sticking with it. I’m only looking at remote roles.

This happened to me as well. Got to the final round a few times and did not succeed at being chosen lol

Hello Everyone,

I have been working with Kantar (a market research company) for 10 months now. The company has given me permanent work from home. Work is quite good and I am able to learn many things here. Also, my manager is very supportive and patient.
The only thing is about compensation, I have a package of 14 lpa with 6 YOE.
I'm thinking of switching to some company based in Pune.
What should I do?

Hi Guys,

I am a ReactJS developer (frontend) with 3.8 years of experience. I currently switched my company but they don't have an opening for ReactJS and kept me on a bench for 3 months and they are telling me now to learn AEM technology and work on the AEM project for now.
They hired me for a package of 16 LPA.
So my questions are is it a good technology to learn? Should I say yes and have a career in it?
Will I get the same package like ReactJS or less? What is future if compared with React?

Recently received an offer from Ogletree to do only class action work. It'll be a big change for me, I'll be starting as a fourth year. Double my current salary, etc.

What will this be like? It's more of a niche, but lucrative, part of their practice, right? Will I really get good WLB like they claim? I have a nice 40 hour a week job right now, no billables.

I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?
