Ugh, starting next week I’m going back to being unemployed for the first time in about 10-years. I’m not sure if I should go back into the Ad world or one of the FAANG companies.
Facebook crashed - wanna join FAANG?
How is Amazon Product Management approach compared to that at Dropbox, Facebook, and Google? For example, Amazon mainly focuses on doc writing, is it the same at other FAANG companies?
Any recommendations for books or materials to prepare for Amazon or FAANG product (technical) manager roles? I’m assuming this was asked many times, I haven’t had luck locating ideal threads but will keep looking as well! Any advice would be appreciated 🙂
Amazon low ball offer (L5): 105 base + 10k sign on + 80k stock (4 years) VS KPMG Manager offer: 165k + 10k sign on. Both are in Seattle. Should I go to FAANG for prestigious brand?
Starting application process to FAANG and other tech firms. For those who have recruited, what’s the end-to-end timeframe? Trying to see when to start the process if my goal is to leave by end of October. I also will be able to get referrals from google, fb, and amazon, not sure if that speeds up the process . Thank you
Is it easier to 1) go from one FAANG to the FAANG company of your choice? 2) go from a top agency to the FAANG company of your choice? In case that makes no sense: is it easier to go from Amazon to Google or from Wieden to Google?
I feel like Facebook needs to be removed from “FAANG” status and replaced with Salesforce, SAANG, or some other arrangement of the letters. Does anyone else feel this way?
If I take a job at Amazon in India, is it considered as prestigious to FAANG companies as Amazon in Silicon Valley?
Opinions on what happening with Facebook and their poor employee outlook? What will FAANG be if Facebook hits the fan? NAAG?
How do you signal to FAANG companies to look at your LinkedIn profile? Only get other consulting firms viewing it/ reaching out for ops.
Is there a hard limit on how frequent you can apply in a year at FAANG? (For instance: Amazon, Google) Also, how many positions are we allowed to apply? There are just many positions at different teams right.
Looking at exits and know big tech is not the play anymore. What are the FAANG companies of 2030? What companies should people be exiting to now? Med device? AI? Cyber?
Has anyone ever had two W-2 jobs at two different FAANG companies at the same time? Were there any company policies against it?
Is it possible FAANG will undergo massive changes due to regulation in the next couple of years? Recruiter reached out for Facebook but I'm not sure
Everyone talks about FAANG and often times it seems like they mean “Google” or maybe fb/amazon. I never hear about Apple. What are consultant exits like there? Anyone know someone who made the jump?
Amazon Proserve vs. Google Gtech vs. Google Contractor How do these stack up against each other in terms of experience and opportunity? I'm looking for a new job now and haven't prepared enough to be able to pass the tier 1 type FAANG positions, but I thought it would be good to at least get FAANG on my resume.
Something in my new apartment is making me sick. If I tell the landlord would they have to pay for an air inspection?
Anyone ever leave a job, start a new job and go back to their old job? Why? How soon? Did you get a raise when you returned? Let me know! Thanks!
Enjoy this love fest Cuomo GMA interview by Amy Robach, praising his COVID response. At the end, her co-anchor goes, “You ask the tough questions.”
Any CFAs here? I am planning to start CFA prep in a couple of months. I have a B.Tech in Electrical and currently working as ERP Consultant (2+ yoe). I just want to get into Finance - is it worth investing time and money in CFA? Or are there any alternatives?
Was offered a job at a public university in another state to do communications, wondering if this means it’s unlikely I will be laid off/furloughed. Is that something I should even ask? Currently at an agency in a safe role (or so I’ve been told) and don’t want to leave for something less stable
Folks @ Cisco Can you please provide some details about what to expect as part of TC for a program manager role? Not looking for a specific number(s), just wanna know what they offer in addition to the base salary. Will have a call with the recruiter next week so I want to know some details in advance. Thanks!
Hi, I work for a non-profit and we hire nationwide for 2 positions as well as locally for numerous positions. I’m looking for recommendations, reviews and any advice for online job boards. We use Indeed, Glassdoor, Craigslist, just got back into Zip Recruiter and working on getting LinkedIn up and running. Any help is appreciated.
Starting to see a lot of compensation threads and even within the same city, the variance of salary is really noticeable. I didn’t expect the spread to be this high, especially in high COL areas.
No thanks I’ll stick to receiving points
How can I be getting 3 questions wrong on verbal and only getting a 45? Is each question worth 2 points?!
When did you stop traveling and stay put in your home town?? Assuming things are normal by spring my family has a vacation planned in early may, I’m due in June. I’ll check and consult with dr too 🙂
Any creatives impacted by Forsman Bodenfors layoffs? That agency does beautiful, powerful work.
Any thoughts on shifting 401k contributions from traditional to Roth with the new tax code changes? I'd imagine a lot of us benefit from lower tax brackets in 2018.
Accepted at Darden with scholarship, but have interviews at Tuck, Fuqua, Johnson, and Ross. (Maybe Wharton) Applied to Darden EA so I will need to put down a deposit prior to knowing about others. Is it worth putting down the deposit to secure something in case I don’t get into any others? My thinking is Darden with scholarship + interviews at others should be a good sign for the others, but curious if others think potentially losing a couple grand in the long run is worth the security.
I really liked this video from one of my fav beauty bloggers on how she is getting through quarantine using lessons from therapy: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFPjIdzOl84 - worth it regardless of the beauty aspects
Should I be concerned for my career with lack of billable projects? Background: Analyst hired out of undergrad in July 2020. I have worked on 3 proposals in the last 2 weeks, and 5 in the last 2 months. In the past year since I was hired, I have 8 months of billable work which is actually slightly higher than the other Analysts I joined with. Should I keep collecting paychecks and hoping for projects, or is this a serious issue that should prompt an exit strategy?
36wk pregnant, I’m so uncomfortable that I can’t sleep. Have a pregnancy pillow, but when I try sleeping on my left baby becomes very uncomfortable and starts kicking. Has anyone had the same, tips?
