I'm a Marketing student and was recently offered part time internship positiom on the marketing team of really cool FinTech Venture Capital company .During the final interview , I luckily asked for their pay range for interns and almost fell to the ground when he said $30/hr min. I would have said $18/$20 if I hadn't asked him instead .The average student earns between $15-$20 ...so it sounds really good but that's only an opening offer. Should I ask for a higher amount like $35 -$40?

Hi All, I need some advice on a job offer. I have been offered a role in HR in London with a leading media and advertising company. The role seems great and challenging and something I really would want to do and the comp offer seems great on paper (£100k base plus pension and health care) What I find strange is they don't have any bonus at this role level. They say it's a pretty senior level(I know a £100k base in UK is a pretty senior role) but I am really doubting why no bonus? Any thoughts?

Currently 6 years at job A at 100K and 10K annual bonus but lil to no upward mobility. It's safe if not going anywhere.

Recruiter reached out regarding Job B at 130K with greater advancement potential but it starts out at 6 Months Contract to Hire per the agency contract. No bonus, benefits adequate by comparison. There is no guarantee to go full time.

I commonly work with a male partner and male associate. I just lateraled. I am more senior than the male associate, but he and the male partner have worked together for years. All instructions come to me through the male associate, and they are not always what the partner wants. I also feel like the male associate sometimes intentionally messes with me and undermines my work product. I get the feeling they talk shit about me. It is starting to feel like a boy’s club. How do I stop this behavior?

Received an offer from Firm X but not in preferred location. Firm Y recently reached out to express interest in interviewing me and asked me to keep them in the loop of where I am in the process. Should I let firm Y know about the offer or would it back fire? If so, how to word it nicely? Started at a new firm a recently. I’m a little anxious about my growth opportunities. I’ve been working and billing like crazy, but the firm essentially charges insurance rates - but also are really conservative about billing and cut my hours a lot. It seems they’re really happy with my work. They’ve brought up the issue of my time and said I should be able to capture my time as long as I break the entries up more. PTO, 1500 billable hours, bonus incentives qrtrly, & 50% health ins. WHY can’t I make a decision? HELP

Trying to lateral (third year) from general corporate boutique to mid/big law. After great interviews was turned down by two firms citing that they wanted more pointed experience. Any advice? I’m getting the interviews, the interviewers really like me, but I need to sell my general corporate experience better. Help!

Do you have to invite people from your office to your wedding? I work at a very small office with out 12 people total, including staff. Should I be worried that entire teams are being poached from/leaving my firm? They are trying to persuade me to stay saying it will all even out, but there little people left in my preferred practice area. Generally enjoy working there, nice laid back atmosphere and wonderful people.
