Choose Parthenon
I would choose Parthenon too.
Parthenon
C2- can you elaborate? I’ve never done tech implementation in Acn Strat. My bschool peers who went to Parthenon are all burnt out, many have left just two years in. They do a lot more DD work than us, but the other work is very similar. Prestige? Parthenon May be viewed better cause it’s smaller. However if you look at the overall strategy of why EY purchased Parthenon in the first place, it’s because they’re looking to have full scale end-to-end services like Accenture and Deloitte have, and BCG/Mck are quickly offering as well.
Lol @ people saying that Accenture Strategy is “comparable” to Parthenon or other traditional strategy shops. Parthenon is much better in every aspect unless you’re trying to be a tech implementation slave, in which case go for Accenture.
Real talk - ACN is a great firm too. It really boils down to what sort of projects you’re looking for. Parthenon will pay more and be seen as more prestigious than ACN though so exit ops, grad school, etc. will be better.
Is this Accenture strategy vs Parthenon or no? Parthenons work isn’t much diff from Strategy, they’re much smaller though
Parthenon!
Parthenon > Accenture, Parthenon > Accenture Strategy, and Parthenon > Kurt Salmon PE group (unless you are super into retail and consumer goods). You will have more exit opps at Parthenon hands down...if you ever want to go to the buy side Parthenon is the way to go. But yeah you will work a lot
Why is that?
Depends on which DTE within ACN you’re looking at, If you’re looking at ACN strategy it’s a lot more comparable. But if you’re looking at MC or TC definitely Parthenon is ‘better.’ Up to you for what you’re looking for.
^Lol, what does that mean A3? Just making up some unverified innuendo about the competition?
It's more of Parthenon vs Kurt Salmon (Accenture Strategy Retail group). If your friend can get either then they're the same. Kurt Salmon gets more analytics and marketing work thanks to Accenture's digital market position. On a personal note, a very close family member of mine also an exec in a large company hired Parthenon and he had really bad things to say but that's just one project!
Did you get an offer from Kurt Salmons Private Equity group? If so then maybe the answer is less clear. If not, Parthenon wins but be prepared to work a lot.
Don’t come to Accenture unless you don’t care at all about the work you are doing
