Only in nyc I would say no. I would judge the condition of the apt though. Is it a bro frat house or is it clean? Does he have a bedframe? Hand towels? Couch? 4 pillows? Roommate is fine but living like a teen isn’t
Pro
I use to not have any pillows. Now I have one. Because the other one was taken by my sister who has 4 pillows.
Agree with Wyman over here. I once booked a hotel room with my aunt. We had separate queen size beds. The entire time, she kept trying to find space to put the extra pillows. She said "why do I need all these pillows for?" She hid two of the pillows in a drawer 😂

Roommate is irrelevant. Vibe of home situation is the only important thing. For instance, a guy with two roommates in a modest but nicely decorated 4th floor walk up is way preferable to a guy who lives alone in a baller 35th floor penthouse with nothing but condiments in their fridge, no bed frame or box spring in the bedroom, and zero decorations except for a handmade collage of people’s faces with their eyes cut out.
Meh, I’d take the penthouse. I’d decorate it for him.
Jokes aside, OP you’re good. Looking at your comments and situation. Zero issue IMO.
No judgment on having a roommate, but I still want to feel comfortable in the apartment. If it looks like a college apartment or the space is really tiny and the roommate can hear everything, it’s a no. If it’s a 2BR/2BA and you’re just sharing a kitchen and living room, who cares
Pro
Thanks ladies, all great data points.
It would be a nice 2br2ba, 6k/mo place. Definitely not a college vibe at all. The reason for that is that I would be a new US resident with little credit so having a roommate makes renting easier. Also, as a new NYer, it’s much better to have company in the form of a roommate until I make more friends.
This roommate is also a female friend from back in the day.
If your female friend is attractive, other women may be threatened/uncomfortable with you two living together

No, some people just don’t like living alone and that’s normal.
I think the roommate being a woman would give me pause.
Not judge but question I guess. How good is this job? And how long has he had roomates
Is it a good job if he has a roommate lol
Note: I was just being zesty, I’ll def have a roommate into my earliest 30’s. Advertising just isn’t that high of a earning potential tbh
Um by date three I know what neighborhood he lives in and whether he has a roommate or not. !!!!!!!
Yes
Hell yeah
I would instantly nope out of there
Yes! You should be able to afford your own place at that age. Otherwise, you shouldn’t be dating
Not in NYC- means he’s financially prudent

Should he judge if you have roommates too?
Lol no
I would judge but it wouldn’t necessarily be a deal breaker.
Lol I love fishbowl
