Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

Prepare the shit out of your responses to all of the generic “tell me about a time you x” star method questions (you can find online), appear unbothered by the bar-raiser, memorize the leadership principles and be prepared to act like they’re the greatest thing you’ve ever heard, sneak a sugary snack in your pocket to crush between interviews when you get tired, and also don’t work at amazon.

My first recommendation would be to not take the job.
But, if you’re really into it, my advice is just be ready to provide some real life examples of challenges/successes in your career. It’s a lot of that. Be ready to tie those experiences back to amazons 10 principles.
My Loop was honestly super disorganized and some people clearly had no idea what my job was, so also be ready for some (most) of your interviewers to be underprepared. Ive heard this is fairly common.

I'd say make sure you have 2 stories prepped/memorized for each of the 14 leadership principles (16 now? I don't like the new ones) and practice answering normal interview questions (ex: "tell me about a time when...") with them.
Make sure each story emphasizes how you demonstrated at least one of the principles. 28 feels like a lot, but it will really help and make the process easier.
A2 + A3 mine is for another social media role but it comes with presenting your portfolio during the loop. Any tips on what they look for in a presentation that Amazon really emphasizes?
Prepare 2 examples for each leadership principle and do a mock interview with a friend. Use ALL the Amazon buzzword, be prepared to share data in your results .
Don’t be boring
Tag leadership principles in your answer... prepare stories for questions like tell me a situation where you went above and beyond and took ownership... What you will do if you come across a situation...(answer should be towards customer obsession)..... Use STAR format.. they usually observe customer obsession, ownership, dive deep, bias for action in you...
