For those of you who employ a nanny, how many hours do they work a week? We have ours for 45 hours a week 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and my husband and I are feeling like this isn’t enough time as transitions are hectic and therefore cut into the work day. For instance, I find myself not logging on until 8 and then signing off at 4 to help. We have two under two so it’s nuts. Wondering if we need to extend hours or if that’s unreasonable to ask a care provider to work 50+ hours a week.

If there's any other industry you could do analytics in, what would you choose? I'd really like to work in tech, more interesting, better pay, and I've heard if you can get over the wlb it's worth it.

Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.
So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

Working remotely for a tech co and still can't get over how much more time I get to spend with my kids. To be honest, this alone is worth so much more than money can buy. When I’m in a heated argument with someone close to me, I want to isolate from them and can be perceived as giving the silent treatment or being short. But on the inside, I go through sad thoughts such as feeling like my presence is a burden, that I’m an annoyance, and dont want to bother you again by reminding you of my presence, and would rather leave you alone😢.

Gift giving help: every year around this time my husband brings up his Jan bday and basically demands I spend a lot of $ on him. I find this stressful. I don’t do big lavish gifts but each year I feel pressure to or he won’t be happy. When I say this he immediately launches into “haven’t I done this for you, bought that for you”. “If you loved me you would”. His entitlement and manipulation make me feel super resentful and removes the fun of celebrating him. FWIW we earn the same. What to do?
