I take the fact that I’m cranking 60+ hours a week regardless, with having an “I dare you to say something to me” face. As long as I don’t miss meetings and don’t delay work, and I swipe my card at the office during RTO days, that I’m doing fine
Cranking 60+ hours a week is the best part about working from home.
I prefer to show up in the morning around 9, then go home at lunch
I'll roll in whenever I get there. I have kids, sometimes I need to drop them off on my own office day and I live an hour+ away. If that means I get in at 10 or 1030, fine.
If I leave at 530, I don't get home until 7 or so, so I make sure I'm out around 430 so I can get home and help with my kids' bedtime
Not asking if it's ok, that's what I do
Pro
Same.
I show up at 7 so it’s quiet and I can leave earlier. Less annoying, obligatory office chit chat and more time to get work done.
They’re flexible for random doctor appts and such though as long as you show up a different day.
I usually show up around 9:30 and take off around 5:30. No one is watching the exact time as long as I don't miss meetings it's not a big deal.
3 days a week in-office -- they've been less strict since we actually have been crazy busy (they won a bunch of new business and then...didn't hire anyone to cover all of it until it actually started).
I don’t really have a set schedule for myself and base it around my meeting schedule. If I have a bunch of meetings in the morning I will typically come in for those, have lunch and leave whenever I have a gap in the afternoon, so I can have a quieter space at home to work on anything that requires me to be heads down.
I show up for about 2-3 hours max, 11-2.
Sometimes less - I’ve shown up for 15 minutes before
You tell ‘em!
It’s from when I show up to when I leave
Our team (20 people) is in constant communication about schedules, doctor appointments, etc. Our EVP trusts us as people managers to make RTO work based on our clients and remit. Since we’re a global team, we sometimes have calls with folks in many different time zones. As long as you are there 3x week (barring sick days or PTO), do a good job, and get your work done on time, then we can be flexible. For example: If you have an 8 or 9 AM call, want to take it at home, and then work in the office the rest of the day then that’s fine. If somebody works from 9 to 2 and they have a doctor appointment and want to work from home the rest of the day then that’s fine. However, people tell their manager in advance that they need this and get the a ok. We talk about it weekly. It’s working great for us so far.
7:30 - 4:00
I usually get in around 8:30/9 and meeting permitting leave around 3:30/4:00, working or listening in on the train as needed for my 2x in office a week and walk in the door around 5ish. If night work needs to happen I do it around dinner with the fam and bedtime routines. Just be a good communicator. I found we probably over communicated at first and have gotten lax since. Seems like a pretty universal situation where agencies get hard ons about RTO that grow flaccid once enforcing it gets tiresome. Tracking this nonsense is tacked on to someone’s plate and gets rightfully deprioritized
830 to 330ish, and then I usually work on my commute home.
Usually aiming for 9:15 arrival and leave 5:20/5:30
Old school vibes
830-6 most of the time.
It’s not great
9:30 to 5:30 but I could come in later and leave earlier if I wanted to. I like my coworkers and job.
