Anyone else super unimpressed with administrative support with a new firm after lateraling? I told a partner I’d just take care of a routine task myself. He told me my rate is too high and to use a “project manager” (basically an intern they can pay less than a paralegal). We have a 40 person group and 3 project managers making starvation wages. Big firm. You’d know the name.

Is it ok to switch to Big data tech stack like Hadoop, Hive, Python after 7 years of experience from .Net technologies ? Which of the two field is good for long term perspective.

What do you all think is the upper limit range for someone in an account manager role at a tech firm? What’s the career path? Was there anything you’ve done in terms of upskilling that resulted in increased pay? Or should I just pick something else if I want to be making more than what I make atm ~150k TC with 6 years exp.

They like “home grown” talent and I “be worked hard and risen relatively quickly (AGC in 9 years). I work hard and get a lot of complicated deals done (structured products and private funds). I can’t shake certain people (in compliance department mainly) thinking I don’t have enough experience to do what I do because I didn’t come from a law firm. Any advice?

Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? I’m a cradle Catholic and my faith has been a big part of my identity. I’ve been a liturgical minister, altar server, lector.. I’ve regularly gone for Catholic retreats, adult Catholic education etc. - all this to say I’ve been pretty serious and invested in my faith
