For those who are posting about taking the resignation offer, here's one thing to consider. The job market is very tough right now. I didn't realize how tough until December when I was at an orientation lunch with five new employees. We are government contractors in IT and these folks all reported to having applied for 300 - 400 jobs. If you are considering it, you may want to look and see what's out there, but the job market is tight. BTW... attorneys seem concerned, give it a Google.

Grammar correction: when you write an abbreviation; at least once in the paragraph write out the meaning. i.e.
MPA; should read, MPA ………then the meaning. I don’t even know what the abbreviation means. Best to write the meaning out first thing in your writing.
i. e. MPA; …………..

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!

What’s the symbol that you can type in a cell so you can input a text, but that text would not appear in the spreadsheet? I want to describe the formula without using a text box, which uses more space.

The equivalent of this is in SQL, you can use the apostrophe in the beginning of and end of a text. That text will not affect the function of the query, but that text can be seen if you proofread the query.

My partner got a City of Toronto offer. Salary band is 104-121k. HR asked for his expectations and he said 115k. HR came back with a 106k offer stating nobody on the team makes that much so they cant offer it. Also said she is unsure if there is any wiggle room if any at all. I’ve looked at everyone on the team with the same titles salary on the sunshine list and the lowest I see is 121k. I assume there is an OT component of some sort but also can’t confirm. Thoughts? /negotiating advice?

Hey, everyone! Hoping someone may have a lead for a free online database for training approvals and registrations? It doesn’t need to be fancy!
