Hi there, I have 3.5 YOE working for NHS Finance. I applied to Deloitte Risk Advisory, Public Sector (London, UK) and was successful. Waiting to hear back with package offer but it’s been over 2 weeks - was told they may offer M2 grade, any ideas what this is?
I’m also interviewing for Senior consultant role also at Deloitte. How much would this typically pay?
Torn whether to stay within NHS as I will be getting an internal promotion or move to Deloitte.

Hi Fishes
I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview
Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

Stay where you are imo. You can make 600k+ in SWE but it's way harder and you're making far above AVERAGE SWE pay
I'm intrigued, do you have a background in STEM or business? Most likely the latter I presume. Doesn't sound like a seismic shift? Have you consider doing a master while working? At your level, how useful would that knowledge come to play as I'd presume you'd most likely be managing analysts and above while you guide and make decisions.. thinking out loud here given your base salary unless you want to go into big tech and be a sole contributor

Well I can align boxes.
OP, it depends on if you can become a top tier SWE.
Here's the first 3 levels at Google for median TC as an IC.
250k, 350k, 500k
I'm not sure what it takes to get an interview to be honest. It's very competitive.
Other than that, the interview itself will be very technical.

How can you make $250k in BI?
FAANG director would require 15+ YOE on the fast side.
Similar compensation in FAANG would be mid level (2 levels above entry level)
If you still want to stay in Chicago but do a slight lateral into tech consulting you may want to consider Thoughtworks. They actually had at one time the hardest technical interview in the country for SWEs. Also if you do have a desire to go the SWE route, it is going to be difficult without learning discrete math compared to the other types of math you've learned. You're much better off going the DS route if you want to lean on past maths.
