How much MS Office work do you do? The Mac versions of Office are okayyy, but if you’re spending a ton of time in Excel and PPT, I’d err on the side of a windows machine. And this is coming from a 20+ year exclusively Mac user on the personal side.
I will be using some data related software tools and a lot MS office tools. I am also inclining towards Dell.
Thanks

X1 carbon for work.

The 16” MacBook pro is a pretty sweet computer! Just make sure it’s compatible with all the Microsoft software you use.
Latitude 14
Inclining towards that :)
Thanks

If you’re going Windows, Latitudes are way better built than Precisions.
Source: Early in my career was a Dell repair technician, and I’ve kept certifications current so I can fix things without voiding the warranty or shipping to a service depot.
I totally agree with you. In my current job, I switched from ThinkPad to Mac some months ago and couldn't justify the switch.
MS office tools are always a pain to use in Mac.
Thanks again!
Contrary to the above recs for the 16” macbook, I’d avise against it
I used to have a 15” and it took up so much space and was a hassle to carry around all the time. If youre gonna travel a lot, itll add weight to your backpack and that gets tiring
That is also correct. 16" Mac doesn't feel handy.
Dell XPS
Not as well made/more prone to failure than the Latitude line. Although, not AS awful as their Inspiron and Vostro garbage.
One thing I usually hate about Windows is frequency of updates and system slowness. Even my Thinkpad machines always slowed down after a year or slow.
On the hand, my MacBookPro which is Mid-2017 model still runs smooth (with heating issue).
No arguments here. A clean reinstall can usually help. Although, I still find it silly that Windows needs a good wipe/reinstall every couple years to perform well, but my 2014 Mac mini has never been reinstalled (just in place upgrades) and performs as well or better than when I bought it.
And don’t get me started on my nearly 20 year old NetBSB box that has never been reinstalled. OS upgrades, yes… but always in-place. :)
