E-visa. On arrival takes time and then you wait in the line again
Or did anyone use the E-visa method?
I applied for visa beforehand. Don’t remember how much I paid because it was a couple years ago, but the lady I was visiting with in Vietnam told me before I went that if customs tries to ask for bribes in order to let me in the country, I needed to make a big fuss. So not sure how much I trust visa on arrival process because if bribes are still a thing you could potentially pay more.
E-visa. Did not go to embassy.
Do the e visa. I think it’s required for us citizens now. It’s really easy
You can do an E Visa or even if you arrive without one you'll just be forced to start the process after you land. It'll just take longer.
For e-visa, do I have to specify which airport im arriving and leaving from? Im going to thailand first, so not sure exactly arrival and departure city yet.
You have to specify arrival airport but they will email it to you within just a few business days so you can apply when you’re in Thailand depending on your itinerary. It was only 25 for single entry and a few more for priority if you need the visa within 1 business day. I missed my flight from the US to Vietnam because my middle name wasn’t on there and had to pay $1000 for a last minute flight so make sure everything is accurate.
evisa, I don't remember the amount but it was <50 online, waited 20 min on arrival with no fuss. just make sure you print your paperwork, I have a feeling that they would have a problem if you pulled up the docs on your phone

I did both and I’m glad I did because there turned out to be an issue with my e-visa! I don’t remember what because the other person I was with had a working e-visa. I had a friend who also didn’t know you needed a visa and didn’t prepare anything before hand. It was expensive and much longer but you can technically do everything there.
E-visa
Thanks all! I have about 15 days. Would you guys recommend splitting Thailand and Vietnam 50/50?
