I’d probably go with deloitte, but you were the one that went through the interviews and met the people. The work isn’t really going to be that different, so I think it depends more on the people. The bump in pay and bonus sound nice to me, and you could always go back to PwC later on. I’ve seen folks boomerang in tas, and no one has hard feelings about it.

You're in an amazing position. Use Deloitte's offer to ask PwC to give you what you want. They should be able to match the base and the sign on bonus. If they don't, then you know which firm values your services more. People talk about normalizing comp after a year or two, but I don't think that should even factor into the equation. A dollar today is always worth more than a dollar tomorrow.
Try to be as objective as possible about this decision and look at it for what it is, a business decision. Of course there are other factors that go beyond the money. But anybody that tells you to give up $5K or $10K because the firm is worth it, is not looking out for you. They're looking out for the firm and by extension, for themselves. If you interviewed with Deloitte then that tells me you are ready to make a change. At the end of the day, it's your career and your financial success.
Interesting and good for you. Year before me a 2nd year was told he couldn’t transfer to fdd until senior so he went to ey haha
All firms are understaffed, so I don't think it'll make much of a difference. Mind sharing what you were offered?
Just don’t expect a high salary increase the next year or two.
Will pwc match?
Region and staff level as well please
See reply above
What’s deloitte’s bonus structure? You’ll always get paid above market for a year when you switch firms but they usually even you out with the home grown talent over a year or two
~20% at PwC fwiw
I'm in pwc TAS and we are just as desperate so its going to be the same. The only thing you have going at pwc is maintaining the relationships by not jumping to a competitor. Also keep in mind you will only be ahead in comp one year at Deloitte, they likely will not give you a raise next year to let your cohort catch up.
Did PwC offer you a specific industry that Deloitte otherwise isn’t too strong in? If not, and you’re joining the general practice, take the money and switch firms
If you haven’t already, ask pwc to match you. You’ll be getting that base raise in a month with your level. Ask your partner for at least a raise or a match. I’ve heard of this working if you want to play hardball a bit, just don’t expect it to work twice. They’ll probably be pretty happy to pay you that extra. 10k is a drop in the bucket and saves a lot of training headaches. Really depends how busy your groip is, how understaffed they are, your past performance etc... these will factor into the leverage with pwc. It’ll all come down to how desperate they are to retain you.
Also need more info on the role. Some practices are better than others at certain b4 firms.
