Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

I would say:
1. I want to accept the offer
2. As you know even with sign-on bonus I am walking away from YE bonus
3. The market is hot, if you are not willing to be flexible I will need to walk away.

Work two jobs obvi
Who knows if it’s a joke or not those days!
Is it a dream role? What's the TC delta? How much longer can you last? More info needed to determine the ROI of leaving now vs. turning this down and looking again
Tell them to give you a signing bonus that includes those lost values. That’s how it works

Assuming you've reached dead end in negotiations, look at the cost of accepting the offer.
Over the next 12 months, what will be the difference in total comp? Maybe look at 2 years. Is the switch worth it?

Then question is whether the long term gain is a high enough gain to make it worth it.
Only other perspective to offer is opportunity cost. Does this new opp open more doors with even higher ROI? If you held out a bit longer could you get on a better path?
Ask for more sign on or tell them you’re feeling a bit uncomfortable making the switch. It does not hurt to ask. 3 months is a long time so money is the only thing you can ask for.

Accept for 6 weeks out, eg oct 15, then oct 1st ask to push two weeks to Nov 1, then use pto at prior job and give notice dec
Sounds good - My bonus comes in around mid-dec. would you give notice prior to it coming in or just after?
18k isn’t that much in the grand scheme. Would try to negotiate some of it to be paid upfront but if you truly want the job, it’s not an amount of money you hold the line for
