Will the master degree offered through this course will be accepted by the education evaluation institute WES? If yes, is it considered as equivalent to Canadian Masters degree? Take it, for sure. Salary bump (combined with cheaper COL), way stronger brand name on your CV, staying in tech/tech-focus. Seems like a no brainier
Take it.
If you’re looking to do ds, I don’t think EY is a great place for that. Not sure which group you’re currently in, but if you ask around in AA, apparently the practice is not doing so well now (not selling projects, lots of people on bench).
Amazon is not known for the best pay and wlb in tech, but from what I have heard, its a great place to build your technical skills (rigorous code review etc). And you can always jump to another big tech if you end up not liking the firm/role. But directly jumping from consulting to a big tech would be more difficult, especially when there aren’t good projects around.
I’m in AA and I second this. The practice lead can’t sell projects, and all they have is 2-3 shitty demos with fancy names that never get sold. I regret my decision every single day.
Pros of staying at EY:
- NYC
- Have been a part of good team since the last 2 years
- Decent WLB
- On promo track next year to Manager
Cons:
- Once I become manager, I’ll def lose touch with tech which is my area of strength and passion
- Not sure how good the hike would be in Advisory PI
Pros of Amazon:
- Amazing scope of work in tech
- Decent hike
Cons:
Seattle (didn’t quite like the place)
Maybe WLB (yet to know)
Fishes what should I do?
What is the type of role op? Swe, data scientist, something else? I just accepted at amazon, if it’s either of those 2 then I’d jump
Ya sure
