Worst that happens is they say no. The fact it’s taking a while is probably a good thing, because I’d imagine they have to get approvals before formally offering a signing bonus.
Our recruiters do not have any authority over comp themselves. Everything has to come from the hiring manager. We also move slow AF. Don't worry about it OP. If it takes a while to get back to you it's just because someone needs to email someone else to remind them to call another person to ask them to approve something in workday so a different person can send a form to the recruiter so that... You get the idea.
Yeah it’ll take some time, originally got a 5k sign on, but asked for 10k and another 5k on salary. Took them about a week to get back to me on it.
Yeah they won’t pull the offer or anything, and it’s like anything else: send an email -> have a meeting -> have a follow up to finalize -> etc. it takes time
Your offer is still there, it just takes time when getting an offer changed/asking for a change. Plus it’s Friday before a holiday weekend. Likely you will hear by Tuesday if they approved sign on.
Recruiter probably has flexibility to go up to
certain salary and signing bonus, so they low ball a bit initially. Then they fake a “need to get approval” story to string you along so you feel good about negotiating. This is how other firms work anyway, but Booz is cheap AF.
