So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Is this a joke? Either way, to answer your questions... 1) yes, other people also got the message - they are not only interviewing you. 2) yes, Apple is as good if not better than Google or Microsoft or pretty much any other company.
1. I am looking for people who actually got the message to connect with
2. I don't think Apple has better future than Google or MS. I am also talking to Google and MS so wanted to know what others think. Thank you for your perspective.
@OP, curious what your role is right now at McK and why you're being targeted?
Haven't found MBB to be a great place to grow true product management skills
SC1, yeah thats why I was curious about this. Google and MS are strategy type of roles but first time getting traction on a PM. I thought this maybe a sign that really GOOD PM candidates arent going to Apple at the moment so they expanded their search criteria.
I am a generalist but have a CS degree.
Well congrats and good luck @OP! As long as you were a generalist who actually knows how to work with technology , that's important.
I just find the core MBB skillset to be good for strategic thinking, but far less applicable to true product-centric thinking and execution. Many generalists here talk out of their ass when it comes to tech.
Re Apple - it depends on the product family you’ll be working in. The “sexier” the products the more interesting the work all the way down the rung
Also it’s a weird culture so just be ready for that
Hours are not any better than MBB
