McKinsey & Company Just got an offer to join McKinsey & Company. Base is at 175K - I’ve been seeing that base comp is expected to increase to 192K. Any other new offers have the increased comp? Wondering if new comp will come at some point in 2023, or if I should expect it in my offer letter.

In terms of comp don’t expect too much from Apple. You’ll probably come out ahead for TC but base will most likely be around $140-$150. They are notorious for lowballing. However, one thing I do find is that nearly everyone is incredibly proud of what they do and love it. If the role sounds interesting, go for it!
Should I even consider the base since the position will be Cupertino (high cost of living). Also seems like a very stressful role.
160 now vs 160 in Cupertino, that's basically a pay cut. I would negotiate at least a slightly higher base then a bunch of stock and a solid signing bonus.
Stock options can make a huge difference. Do you know how much to expect with that?
I know 2 folks who work at Apple in some supply chain role. One is super motivated and a fairly hard worker, and the other person is your average Joe who just works hard. Basically I'm saying that it's likely going to be above average in terms of stress
Yeah, it really depends on total comp offered and what is your level now? Are you getting a title bump?
Global supply manager is that high now?? Last I looked, salary for that role was ~130 and that was 6 months ago.
What does a global supply manager do? And how do you make the switch from consulting? Were you on similar engagements at D?
D1 they will come back with final offer some time in the coming week, so I should know more then.
ZS1: Apple org is quite flat. So Global supply manager salary can vary significantly.
M2: They identify potential suppliers for parts (eg camera, screen, battery etc. ) for new iphones and help them ramp up their capacity to meet Apple’s demands. In addition they obviously negotiate best prices.
I know a friend who does that for Apple and he used to travel all the time to Asia, EU. Almost twice a month.
M2: Yes I know its a lot of travel and also I did not like that it is all about squeezing most of suppliers. What is your friend’s opinion on work life balance?
My MBA buddy does it. He loves it and doesn’t work hard or long when in US. But spends 2-3 months a year in China 2 weeks at a time working 14 hours days
Think about their business - they sell hardware mostly. Even with luxury products the margins aren’t that amazing.
Anyone here know what would be a fair total package for a product manager or project manager role at Apple for someone with 5 yrs of experience
