Absolutely not at any legit and professional place. We can't wait to close our postings. I hope something works out soon but definitely lean on networking and maybe ask different people from different disciplines for some feedback on your stuff too if you're not getting any results. We get A LOT of applications that blatantly do not match what we've specified in the posting and it gets exhausting and disheartening to review one after the other when with each new entry you get so excited it might finally be the right candidate. Keep looking, it's a long game but it will work out.
I’ve found that a lot of the postings ARE for EOC reasons and have to be posted even though they’ve already hired internally. Also, in our industry and at our level, legit jobs are rarely posted and positions are attained through networking and personal contact. Also, and this is a weird one, while at BBDO I saw a job listing on one of the mainstream job sites for a creative director position at BBDO. I asked the creative recruiter about it and she said she had no idea what it was and that they don’t post for CD positions. So who knows who it was, but it was bogus

My agency always has postings whether we're looking or not. Don't want to miss out on talent because of timing. I suspect most agencies are like this.
