Any chance of market correction this year?
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

I interviewed w/Amazon for a Sr.TPM role about a month ago and they didn’t discuss comp. w/me until I told them was further along in the process somewhere else & was likely going to take the offer. The recruiter asked what it would take to keep me in the process and started throwing base comp. offers. Initially they said $135k (for L5) and went up to $190k. 🤷🏻♀️
I did not. I accepted the offer with the company I was further along in the process with. Felt really good about the team & my growth opportunities there and the compensation was comparable.
This sounds like 2 internal failures. The technical sourcer should have discussed this with you prior to any interviews. Then, you should have had a client lead reach out to you to discuss total compensation expectations prior to your virtual onsite loop.
If you go to levels.fyi and you look in your city it will give you a good idea of the average offer. It's important to look in your city because it's different based on the costs of living.
Not AWS, but have interviewed at Amazon a few times (long story). Got asked my comp expectations no less than three times, so this is surprising to me
How was the loop interview? Any tips. I have mine soon
2 point principle is 32. You had that many examples ?
Good luck OP, let us know how it goes
Manager how was it?? :)
It was good. Bar raiser was very good. Never figured out who the hiring manager was, had 3 interviewers swapped out, possibly one of them.
Got the feedback that I was suited well as an Amazonian but not for the role (TPM in my case)
5 interviews, 2 behavior, 1 Bar, 2 general discussion (One detailed on Resume and one of the Projects), had the interviewer ask SysDesign questions in last 5 min. Not sure if it mattered at that point in time.
No Offer, trying to find other relevant positions but no success yet.
AWS non tech, referral. At least twice I filled out a form.
Thanks A2. This is for Amazon Ads. Heard they’re growing very fast and I hav the right skill set as well. Was just surprised abt the Comp discussion yet.
@OP — how was your interview? Any tips?
