Had an Excel assessment yesterday as the second to last step in an interview process. I was using a new computer and long story short, had some technical difficulties (or maybe just my own incompetence under stress) and ended up only getting through half of the test. I’m on the fence about emailing my recruiter and explaining the circumstances/asking for a retest. Don’t want to come off like I’m complaining but also don’t want this to be the reason I don’t move forward. Any advice appreciated…

Is it really that difficult to get hired for a federal job? I was interviewed for a GS12 job but never heard back, they still didn’t hire anyone and I didn’t get a rejection. I applied for another GS07 job, was accepted, I took it, but I believe I can do better. I have a master’s and have extra graduate research experience. I am still applying to new jobs but I was told it is impossible to move up the grade level now. Everyone is telling me to stick with the government. What are your thoughts?

Is it any surprise we’re seeing mass layoff in tech? Years of rich friends hiring rich friends with no work ethic has lead us here. Current analyst (1.5 YOE) here with a strong interest in DevOps and Project Management. I feel like I am slowly but surely getting pigeon-holed in L&D work. I don’t like it, but my leaders continue to tell me that all experience is good experience. Should I try to breakout and find a variety of experience this early in my career or should I try to make it to 3 years and re-evaluate then? Have you had a similar experience? What have you done?

I had one of those VERY nonproductive days today. I think I accomplished maybe an hour of billable work, even though I had a bunch of stuff to do. I just came off a 300 hour month, and unexpectedly got a continuance on a deadline on Wednesday, and it’s like all of my motivation leeched out of me at once.

Are any other paralegals struggling with billable hour requirements? I have 5 years of experience in corporate transactions, M&A, and real estate work, and have never had billable hour requirements. I'm in a new job now where I do and I'm nowhere near meeting them. I'm getting a lot more admin work than billable work, and it's stressing me out.

During my tenure at TCS, I hadn't linked Aadhaar with UAN because the aadhaar mandate was happening around the time of my resignation.. After resigning from TCS, I took a 3 year break from my job for personal reasons.
In the meantime, EPFO had migrated most of the processes from offline to online.
Then i joined EY where I was told that it was my responsibility to link aadhaar with UAN.
Further, I can't see any entry from EY in my PF passbook. I can see the TCS entry but can't mark my exit.
