I’ve seen some online for around $300. My dress cost $1100 after alterations and seems silly to spend almost a third of that to get it preserved. To get it dry cleaned to turn around and sell it is almost the same price. But it’s my wedding dress. Just conflicted. 🤷♀️
Def check out pricing. I got my cleaned (not preserved… bc I plan to wear it around the house 🤪) and one place told me $450. I brought it to my $1.99 cleaner and it was $60!! Cleaning came out great.
Good idea! Thanks!
I haven’t yet (wedding this fall) but I’ve seen prices ranging from $250-$500+ in my area. My mom preserved hers but it’s been in the box all these years except when I tried it on once as a kid. I’m honestly considering selling mine after but I also may find myself attached ha. If you do keep it 100% preserve it. I’ve seen they not do well just in a random box or garment bag for years. My great grandmothers dress ended up with some mold after living in a random box for decades.
Yea I definitely feel that. Mine was $1100 so far and super nervous about alterations next ugggg. I’ve seen some people sell it without dry cleaning but obviously you sell it for less (especially if it really needs dry cleaning). Is it a style you could cut short and re wear for anniversaries or something? I had a friend so that with hers but it was a more boho casual dress so it looked really good shortened. I’ve also had friends dye theirs but that can get super pricey. Always the option to donate it as well but I def get the conflicted feeling. So much money already involved no matter what you do
