Has anyone else noticed how differently confidence behaves depending on your environment? I’ve had roles where I felt objectively strong but constantly unsure, and others where I wasn’t necessarily better yet felt much more capable. It makes me question how much of “self-doubt” is actually situational. How do you separate real skill gaps from the psychological effect of culture, leadership, or team dynamics?

So, I just joined a startup. No processes, no clear strategy, just one goal: selling. Getting leads. When ever I try to build a strategy, they (founders) swamp me with blablabla stories and not a single action plan. Is this the usual at startups? Also,no real company culture. At all. No HR. What do you like about working in tech ?

When you recruiters say at the end of a 15 min call.
“I will get back to you by the end of this week” does that really mean “your not right for this position”? Because this whole thing is a waste of time. I’ve did these calls with 3 recruiters and is yet to hear back from someone. Today would be the 4th recruiter that I’ve spoken to. Does this practice annoy you guys just as much as it does us?
