Has anyone here actually landed a role just from applying on LinkedIn or Glassdoor I’ve been applying here and there for a couple of months, not in a rush to leave my current job, but I haven’t gotten much traction. Meanwhile, it seems like most people I know are getting offers through connections rather than cold applications. Starting to wonder how common it really is to get hired just by applying online vs. networking. Curious what others have experienced.

I’m brand spanking new to the “official” business analyst role and have my first functional requirements workshop any tips on how to make this a success?

I was a software engineering consultant and moved to industry last year. To keep things short, I can’t see long term growth for my career and exploring options to be proactive.

Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. What does the group focus on in terms of work, what are hours like, decent exit Ops, interview process etc? Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. There is this big bank where I'd love to work at, and after several interviews for various positions they end up promoting someone from within, even thou I understand it and think it’s good they promote their people, it left me feeling like I'm just being used to comply with the process.

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
