For entry level networking usually has a higher success rate. The more complex the position the better your chances for a cold application due to less competition. You can work around the networking by finding someone in the position you want and trying to do an informational interview. Ask questions about the job, build a rapport, and then apply (potentially with their recommendation) for a better shot. Good luck!

Yeah that makes sense. I like the informational interview idea and it feels a lot more human than just sending applications into the void. Thank you for your suggestion!
Honestly, I think online applications can still work, but it often feels like a numbers game and hard to know what’s actually working.
I’ve found referrals and direct outreach usually give better traction, but plenty of people still land roles through platforms like LinkedIn and Glassdoor too.
One thing that helped me mentally was starting to track my applications, response rates, sources, and ghosting patterns because it gave me a clearer picture of where results were coming from.
I actually built a simple tracker for myself for that reason. Happy to share it if it helps anyone else.
